3 volumes, 8vo. Engraved portrait frontispiece and 118 engraved colored plates. Contemporary calf (extremities worn, crude repairs to joint splits, losses to spine).

FIRST EDITION. Curtis was director at the Chelsea Physic Garden before establishing his botanical garden, first at Bermondsey, then later at Lambeth Marsh and Brompton. He cultivated some 6,000 species from all over the world. Nissen BBI 442.
